MakeupKit Condensing Essentials

This one here is for all my artist friends whose backs are in pain and always lugging around 100 extra pounds of bags and luggage to and from clients houses, hotels, up and down stairs, etc.

Don’t feel bad, I’ve been there too! In fact I’m still there and still working on condensing my kit. It’s been a journey but it just keeps getting better and lighter. I have been working on condensing my kit for about 2 years now. Ever since I met a fellow makeup artist friend of mine Maggie aka @closetrichh in NYC.

We were getting ready to work a show in New York and she had sent me a picture of her kit one day to show me what she was bringing. I was amazed how she had fit everything into one small case. I had just recently transitioned to one of those Reveal makeup cases from Amazon (similar to the one pictured on the left) that most makeup artists carry nowadays. I love how you can work directly out of it vs my Zuca rolling case that had so many different pouches I had to pull out to work from. Don’t get me wrong I love my Zuca and still use it till this day but in a different way.

My friend Maggie was nice enough to give me a few tips on making my kit even smaller and it slowly became almost an obsession lol. Since then I’ve been on a constant search for ways to lighten my load when traveling to go see clients.
